LOOK THIS WAY FOR THE HOLIDAYS!!!!

With only a few days left until Christmas, trees are lighting everywhere, families are gathering and stores are
busier than ever!!!

Whether you're wrapping up some last minute shopping, having holiday cocktails with friends, or headed out for an elegant Christmas affair, here are a few ideas to help you piece together  a  FABULOUSLY FESTIVE LOOK!!

#1- THE "I'M STILL SHOPPING" LOOK

For this particular look, we've paired a favorite Christmas sweater, courtesy of H&M along with our favorite classic jeans look, the stone wash!

HOW WE DID IT  For starters, we've selected a winter green beanie to keep all those hair frizzies from flying away while you squeeze through the stores, a chique' ivory pea coat to keep it all together, Santa-themed Christmas socks to keep you a little-naughty-never-nice, and of course, snowflake gloves to keep your hands warm while pushing a shopping cart FULL of g!fts!.

Let's not forget our JEWELRY!! COURTESY OF THE FABULOUS PANDORA Collection!
After all, in the words of  Sonja Henie
"Jewelry takes people's minds off of your wrinkles!"
Here's a closer look: to the left, the classic Pandora Christmas Charm Bracelet with interchangeable charms alongside Pandora's "Silver Christmas" earrings! Take a peek!!

#2 THE "COCKTAILS & CHEERS" LOOK

For our 2nd look, the "Cocktails & Cheer" as we like to call it, we've chosen  to have a Merry Blue Christmas!! With classic pieces such as the well known cable bracelet and cable watch from the David Yurman collection, this look is a definite must for the classy-on-the-go chic!

In addition, we've added this fabulous black cover-up scarf, courtesy of the ever-so-exquisite...
Last, but NEVER LEAST, our 3rd look!!!
#3: "EVER-SO-ELEGANT GREEN CHRISTMAS BALL" LOOK

What better way to bring in the Christmas spirit than the enchanting color of emerald green alongside the illustrious Van Cleef & Arpels designs!  Shoes! Shoes ! and more shoes! How FLAWLESS are these gold-leaf inspired strappy heels??

Take notice of the uniquely designed clover pieces characterized by the charming diamonds centered perfectly! Van Cleef has yet, done it AGAIN!!! NEED WE SAY MORE??

Altogether, no matter what you're doing, there is definitely a piece AND DESIGNER for EVERY OCCASION!!
AND AS ALWAYS, if you're ever LOOKING for that PERFECT piece, or just looking to SELL that not-so-perfect piece...you know EXACTLY WHERE TO GO~~ :)

Signed,
Golden Gramm

HOLLY JOLLY PROPOSAL IDEAS!

Tis the season for merry times and tis the season for love! So many wonderful things to look forward to during the holidays.  Seeing family, no school for the kids, couple days off work. What better time to ask the lovely lady of your dreams to marry you then a time filled with so much cheer!

I have fantasized numerous times how I would like my future hubby to propose during the holiday

#1. Christmas Lights
setting up the lights is a favorite of mine so why not add an extra touch by making it the way you propose!

#2 Ornament Proposal
Putting up the tree and decorating is also a favorite.  It brings the family together. Add a special ornament to the pile and make sure she is the one to put it on the tree!

#3 Christmas Carol Proposal
I think I saved the best for last.  What cuter Christmas proposal than to have your entire family come knocking at your door to single for you, with your boyfriend joining in at the end to ask for your hand in marriage.

KNOW YOUR DIAMOND

Very important part of our job here at NJB is to
keep our customers informed!
A lot of scammers exist out in the jewelry world and we see it happen day after day :(
When shopping for a diamond be aware of the quality stone you are purchasing. It can make or break the resale price!

There are 4 C's in the diamond buying world
  1. Cut
  2. Clarity
  3. Color
  4. Carat
Today we a will go over the "CLARITY". Below is a chart ranging from IF to I3. What does this mean exactly? It means "how clear" your diamond appears with the naked eye as well as with a loop.
Inclusions are referred to the flaws found on, around, inside your diamond looking almost like minuet chips. Those black specs(carbon) you see inside a diamond are BIG NO NO'S. Try and purchase a diamond as clear as possible if you are looking for a great clarity stone. Next time you go diamond shopping, ask the salesmen to allow you to look at the diamond with a loop.  Look for flaws, don't ignore them.  If a salesmen is trying to sell you a "VS2" stone and you look at it and its got black specs everywhere or you see chip like marks, you are being scammed.  Be cautious, and stay informed!

HAPPY FALL!

Today's blog is a family, fun DIY Project for all ages!
It's that spooky time of the year again and as much as we love to consume pumpkin spiced goods we love to dress for the holiday.  This project is stylish sweet treats you can't eat but def show off:)

WHAT YOU NEED:
  • 2 yellow buttons
  • 2 orange buttons
  • 2 white buttons
  • scissors
  • 2 surgical steel french hooks
  • brown yarn OR for my advanced ladies you can use thin sterling or copper wire
HOW TO MAKE:

  1. Take yarn, cut about a foot string.
  2. Take the string and french hook and insert an end of the yarn into the bottom of the hook.
  3. Tie a small knot so that the hook and string are attached near the end of string.
  4. Take your white button and thread string through ONE openings with yarn.
  5. Slide the button all the way so that the it is almost touching the hook.
  6. Make a knot and cut string.
  7. Take the loose string and thread through the other opening of your white button AND thread through ONE opening of your orange button.
  8. Make a knot and cut string.
  9. Again take the rest of the string and thread through the other opening of the orange and ONE opening of the yellow button.
  10. Make knot and cut access string.
Look at image above to guide you.  The idea is to attach one button at a time to the other in order to make the dangling affect.  This DIY uses yarn but the advance ladies may use wire like image above. Follow the same steps.

HAPPY HAUNTING!

Yellow Gold vs White Gold

The endless battle to which color is best for you? Some people already know what they like, which by all means I applaud you! For those of us who just can't decide whether to put your beautiful stone on that pretty white gold or yellow gold setting, here are some fun facts that might help you decide what to do!

YELLOW GOLD

made up of: GOLD + COPPER + ZINC
classic & elegant look
less maintenance BUT does need to be polished to keep shine
the higher Karats (21 kt-24 kt) are less durable
can be dented
compliments darker skin tones

WHITE GOLD

made up of: GOLD + SILVER + PALLADIUM
better for diamonds
more expensive
more maintenance BUT more durable
scratch resistant
compliments lighter skin tones

DID YOU KNOW!?

Any U.S dime, quarter and half dollar dated 1964 and before are made of 90% silver!  So what does this mean???!! Take a look into that change jar. You might have more than just a couple cents in there! Currency made with 90% silver is calculated different then face value.  Seeing as its composition is mostly silver, it goes by the spot value of the day! With the price of silver today this means

JEWELRY STAMPINGS

       JEWELRY STAMPINGS

What does it mean exactly that your necklace is stamped with a 14K? Let alone when it is stamped with random numbers like 417 or 585! Here at NJB we LOVE to keep our customers informed with all sorts of jewelry knowledge! After all, it is your money being spent and every penny counts!
Basically the higher the Karat stamp is, the closer to pure gold you have. This is why some people will break out even when wearing a 10KT necklace because the necklace has other types of metals mixed in with the gold.

Jewelry Do's & Don'ts for back to school!

Back to School Jewelry
DO’s and Don’t’s!

DON’T DO IT!
OKAY TO DO!
Giant hoop earrings: maybe for a night out on the weekends but for class, keep it classy
Medium/Small size earrings: nothing that will get tangled up in your hair
Metal Bangles: don’t be THAT girl that jingles every two seconds she moves her hand during lecture time or even worse, reading time.
Any and all sorts of fabric or plastic bracelets are great! Don’t cause unnecessary noise to yourself or disturbance to others.
Neon Jewelry: Eh, just not the place and time at school
Pastel/Dark colors: go easy with any outfit
Metal Spiked Jewelry: against dress code in most counties!
Plastic small studded jewelry: safe and go along with dress code!
Rings on every finger: how can you hold a pencil with so many on?!
Single or double length rings are always fashionable!

Seasonal Cleaning!!!

We do it for our clothes, we do it for our home, and why not do it
 for our jewelry box?
Seasonal cleaning seems to be something that is done for large clutter around
the house but even your jewelry box deserves a quick freshening
 once in a while!

Honestly, you would be surprised what you can find in your own little treasure chest!
I know personally the last time I cleaned it out, I found 9 pairs of earrings I hadn't touched in maybe 5 years! YIKES!!!
The beauty of it is, even those ragged, out of style earrings can mean a couple bucks in your pocket!
I got about 80 bucks for mine.

Cashing in gold and silver jewelry is a simple process that gives you that same relief feeling you get once you emptied that
 over flowing closet of clothes.
You never know what you can find until you blow off the dust and take a peak!
