Very important part of our job here at NJB is to
keep our customers informed!
A lot of scammers exist out in the jewelry world and we see it happen day after day :(
When shopping for a diamond be aware of the quality stone you are purchasing. It can make or break the resale price!
There are 4 C's in the diamond buying world
- Cut
- Clarity
- Color
- Carat
Today we a will go over the "CLARITY". Below is a chart ranging from IF to I3. What does this mean exactly? It means "how clear" your diamond appears with the naked eye as well as with a loop.
Inclusions are referred to the flaws found on, around, inside your diamond looking almost like minuet chips. Those black specs(carbon) you see inside a diamond are BIG NO NO'S. Try and purchase a diamond as clear as possible if you are looking for a great clarity stone. Next time you go diamond shopping, ask the salesmen to allow you to look at the diamond with a loop. Look for flaws, don't ignore them. If a salesmen is trying to sell you a "VS2" stone and you look at it and its got black specs everywhere or you see chip like marks, you are being scammed. Be cautious, and stay informed!
